Accident Reconstruction Services

Steven W. Rickard is an accident investigator/reconstruction expert with more than 36 years of experience. He specializes in the reconstruction of complex accidents involving passenger vehicles, motorcycles, tractor trailers, buses, and other commercial motor vehicles.


While working as a trooper for the Pennsylvania State Police from 1970 until 1992, Steve investigated and reconstructed numerous motor vehicle accidents. He also taught accident investigation and reconstruction for the Pennsylvania State Police and for the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Traffic Institute for Police Services (TIPS). He later taught accident reconstruction at the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM), University of North Florida.

To date, Steve has investigated, reconstructed, and/or assisted with the investigation/reconstruction of more than 6,500 motor vehicle accidents. He holds numerous instructor certifications and is a regular speaker at various accident-related events. He has co-authored a number of training manuals and has written numerous technical articles. He has been admitted to testify in many federal and state courts, and has been qualified as an expert in the application of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and numerous state vehicle codes.

Electronic Control Module Downloads and Analysis

Steve is factory certified to download and analyze data from Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, and Cummins electronic control modules. He performs data extractions and analyses on a regular basis.
